“Supporting our community is fundamental to our mission, and we are committed to assisting our youth members in pursuing higher education. It’s an essential part of what we do at San Francisco Federal Credit Union.”
Ray Shams, Interim CEO, San Francisco Federal Credit Union
Attaining a higher education gets more expensive every year, whether going in-state or out. San Francisco Federal Credit Union values education, which is why we established the Youth Scholarship Program, to provide financial assistance to students who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Since the program began in 2000, we have awarded nearly $190,000 to high school seniors who live, go to school, or worship in San Francisco and San Mateo counties.
Scholarship applicants must be members of the San Francisco Federal Credit Union and are selected on a number of criteria, including academic record, participation in school and community activities, and life goals and aspirations. Financial need is not considered.
